About Us
History
Our story starts way back, when we observed that women in Somalia are left behind matters concerning peace and security of the country.
Somali Women Peace and Security (SWPS) is a non-governmental organization that was founded in 2023 and is committed to promoting women’s rights, gender equality, and peacebuilding in Somalia.
Focusing on a variety of subjects, including women’s skill projects, girl education, gender equity, women’s empowerment, and women’s participation in decision-making, SWPS is a group that is strongly committed to empowering women.
Through carrying out these initiatives, SWPS hopes to establish a community in which women actively participate in determining Somalia’s future and have equitable access to opportunities.
